Dave is incredible, but listen to some of the other drummers that Chick has recently played with. Jeff Ballard is a great example. Listen to how he hits his drums and cymbals. He puts consideration into every single stroke; he tries to “dig in” to get a specific sound out of his instrument, and whether he plays three notes or twenty, it WILL sound incredible. He works on creating “textures” sort of, and does it all for the musicality. I think this is why he is better than dave.
este tema no me cansa nunca!!!
study anything but piano,preferably saxophone
it’ll open up your horizons like you wouldn’t believe
I’ve used that approach on guitar since about 80
Little or no guitar music, mostly piano, sax and cello

eso es musica que orror no puedes eer el jazz estupido no tiene ritmo definido
exelente ufff lo mejor la electric band en este caso la acustic band, lo mejor todos los solos increibles

can that hot brunette play jazz this good? i think you’re trying to attract the wrong crowd here buddy, we’re just trying to watch some genius music. (subtext to that comment: piss off)
i have that album. this is a disgusting trio for sure. have you heard the version of autumn leaves on marsalis standard time vol 1?
dave’s personal band isn’t my taste but the guy is probably the best drummer on earth. check out some of his solos
I am a piano player and TV Show host therefore, I comment,
I must have Chick Corea and his wonderful band LIVE on:
Julius
Dr. Love’s TV SHOW
P.S. Saw you LIVE
study anything by bill evans – his harmonies are impeccable – and check out jazz improvisation for the classical pianist by martan mann – great for jazz improv lessons…also mark levine’s piano jazz theory is excellent – even for someone who doesn’t play piano
this is the only time i’ve heard weckl play that i didn’t wanna rip my ears off.
yeah, in the end someone spoke the truth which is origin from wider awared context. Camilo is most fastest, same with Rubalca, he´s killin´ too.
who wants to watch me lose my clothes on webcam

I’ve been playing piano for about 8 years, and started jazz one year ago. Improvisations with the right are killing me… What should i study for that? Anything you recommend?
Awesome performance, by the way
If anyone wants to hear a completely fresh and dynamic version of the standard Autumn Leaves, check out the cd entitled Chick Corea Akoustic Band, 1989, track 5. Simply an amazing take on the tune. Same trio as you see in this video.
Chick’s dissonance complements Weckl’s explosiveness. It’s one of the components that makes these guys gel rhythmically – very staccato and abrasive almost. There’s a lot of high energy and tension in the harmonies that mesh well w/ Weckl’s force. Enjoy listening to this video on a semi-regular basis.
The Rhythmic approaches of these three guys are just too co-ordinatingly.. Just like from mind of 1 person
i totally agree
im sure you’ll figure it out for yourself
and about the speed think that majpluselva said i agree.. Speed is something that everyone can have.. it doesnt matter.. Rubalcaba, Michel Camilo or Ballard and many more are for me faster that Chick but he has his own style.. he is unique..
